4 Signs That It Might Be Time to Refresh Your Filler
Dermal fillers are used to restore soft tissue and collagen loss, subtly restoring symmetry and balance in the face. They also add volume and definition along with improving skin texture and fine lines. Most of our fillers are powered by a soft, gel-like form of hyaluronic acid – the star ingredient in many moisturizers and naturally occurring in skin – dermal fillers give that shape and structure back to the face. We LOVE dermal filler treatments at PHI and find they are the all star player in restoring facial harmony.
Hyaluronic acid fillers generally last 6-12 months depending on the type of filler, the area of the face and your own metabolism. As much as we love it, it is not permanent and is metabolized over time by your own body. If your filler seems to be looking less voluminous than it used to, you may simply be a little past due for a re treatment appointment. This is normal!
Here are 4 signs that it is time to visit us for filler re-treatment.
1) Your lines and wrinkles are starting to reappear
If your smile lines seem much more noticeable than they were after you were treated in your nasolabial folds or those vertical lip lines seem to be returning after you were treated with chances are it might be time to visit PHI.
2) Previously plump areas look deflated
If your pout isn’t looking particularly plump anymore, there’s a good chance your lip filler has faded.
3) Your makeup sets differently
If you notice that you have been using more blush, bronzer, lipstick than usual to plump or highlight, it may be that your filler has worn off.
4) Your last filler appointment was over a year ago
Generally speaking, if it’s been over a year since your last appointment, it may be time to see your PHI injector again for retreatment. We can always help you decide when to treat again and count on our expert nurse injectors to never overfill if it not time to treat again.
